A great way to use leftover chicken or turkey.

margarine or butter

mushrooms sliced

all-purpose flour

milk

chicken broth

baby peas

cup

pimentos chopped

sherry or dry white wine

puff pastry shells

In a saucepan melt margarine.

If using fresh mushrooms, add mushrooms and cook until tender.

Stir in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

Add milk and chicken broth all at once.

Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

Add peas.

Cook and stir for 1 more minute.

If using canned mushrooms, add them now.

Stir in chicken or turkey, pimento, and, if desired, dry sherry. Heat through.

Spoon atop pastry shells (or toast points).
