Swedish Cabbage Roles

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tbsp pepper
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 10 1/2 ounces tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine meat, rice, sugar, onion, salt and pepper.
  3. Wilt the cabbage leaves by placing in boiling water for a few minutes.
  4. Place about 1/2 cup of mixture into each cabbage leaf and roll up securely. Place rolls into a baking pan. Dot each with butter.
  5. Combine water and soup and pour over the rolls.
  6. Bake in 350 degree oven for one hour.

I am not sure if this is the recipe that Mom used. But, i found this in one of her cookbooks with 2 X's next to it so I thought it might be the one!
