Shortbreads
As you know, I always make these at Christmas. Mainly so my wonderful grandchildren will come over and decorate them!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream butter, add sugar, and mix well.
- Mix flour, salt and baking powder together and add to butter mixture.
- Stir well.
- Roll 1/3 of the dough at a time to 1/4" thickness.
- Cut into shapes.
- Put on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 - 10 minutes.

Watch carefully or they will get too brown.
These are very good - must be the butter!
Incidentally, they break quite easily, so handle with care.
