Yield: 18 Servings


As you know, I always make these at Christmas. Mainly so my wonderful grandchildren will come over and decorate them!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes


  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter, add sugar, and mix well.
  3. Mix flour, salt and baking powder together and add to butter mixture.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Roll 1/3 of the dough at a time to 1/4" thickness.
  6. Cut into shapes.
  7. Put on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 - 10 minutes.

Watch carefully or they will get too brown.

These are very good - must be the butter!

Incidentally, they break quite easily, so handle with care.
